WHAT IS AN OUTREACH MINISTRY
Outreach is primarily an action.
- Outreac his the activity of providing services to any population that might not otherwise have access to those services. A key component of outreach is that the group providing it is not stationary, but mobile; in other words, it involves meeting someone in need of an outreach service at the location where they are.
- Community outreac his about giving, contributing, and helping those who cannot help themselves.
- Community outreach also allows us to influence younger generations to give back to the community. It helps the community grow in a substantial way.
- Community outreach programs area standard way for groups such as social service agencies, non-profit groups, and church or other religious groups to identify a certain specific need in its community and provide services to the people who need it.
HOW DO YOU OUTREACH A COMMUNITY?
- Meet people where they are.
- Be respectful.
- Listen to your community.
- Build trust and relationships.
- Get the word (sensitive topics) out in a non-stigmatizing manner.
Offer service and information in a variety of locations (including home visits) and at non-traditional times.
OUR MISSION
The Outreach Ministry works to identify and serve the needs of our local and larger community. We work and give where needed and show compassion for all people who are in need. Our intentional mission is to share and show our faith in God through our service to others.
